Mr. Priyalal Fernando, the Chairman of JP Fresh Products and JP Marine (Pvt) Ltd had received 2011 National Shrama Abhimani Award at the Ceremony organized by the Shrama Abhimani Council held at Bandarnayake Memorial International Hall
He had received this prestigious award under the fisheries sector for the enormous dedication he had rendered towards the betterment of the fishing sector in Sri Lanka.
Speaking about of winning the award he said, that the business inherited from his ancestors who fought traditionally with the rough seas in the past and seeing the hardships they faced, he decided to bring modern era to the business by utilizing the technologies and to search the avenues to grow up the business towards the international trade. Since then he had taken up every initiative of the business to a significant height in the trade by gaining an asset to hold a fleet of fishing trawlers, fish processing units including cold rooms etc to produce the fish products to the European norms. Here Mr. Priyalal Fernando received this prestigious award from Hon.Dr. Rajitha Senarathna , Minister of Fisheries , 2011.
